Glen D. Meisner

PE, PLS, Partner

Glen has enjoyed a storied career in engineering and land surveying in his 42 years in the business, 25 of those with MMS Consultants, Inc. In recent years, his efforts have been focused on business development, municipal engineering, surveying and subdivision plats.  Previously, he spent nearly 18 years in county engineer and assistant county engineer roles in Eastern Iowa.

At MMS, Glen co-leads the survey department and its five survey crews. As a land surveyor, he has a passion for cornerstone restoration and historical cornerstones — searching for them, unearthing them and recording them. His dream is to restore the cornerstones for the state’s first capitol site, certified in 1839 on the original map of Iowa City, by their 175th anniversary.

Glen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role, from grant writing for federal and state funds to the design, inspection and maintenance of highways, bridges and culverts. He represents clients by working with the board of supervisors, city councils and planning and zoning commissions to ensure a successful project. He has consulted for municipal engineering projects and residential and commercial development.
