billion kia.jpgBillion Automotive has served the Midwest since 1935. In 2010, the company needed to expand and renovate their auto campus in Iowa City, along Mormon Trek Boulevard.

The new plaza features a redesign of the original Honda dealership, along with a new dealership offering General Motors brands, a collision center, and a car wash.

MMS also redesigned the existing outdoor vehicle display, adding more space for the display of a larger selection of cars, trucks, and SUVs than was previously possible. The new location provided the dealerships with more than 456,000 square feet of pavement, requiring a robust stormwater removal system also designed by MMS.

In 2012, Billion chose to expand again, adding a new Kia to the campus. The Kia location includes a 15,167-square-foot building, with 5,260 square feet dedicated to sales and offices. The building also contains parts storage and a service center with 10 service bays and seven service stacking spaces.

MMS was brought on to design the vehicle display area and the parking lot. The display area has space for more than 150 vehicles, accounting for much of the 87,180 square feet of pavement.

With the addition of Kia to the Auto Plaza, there is now space for more than 600 display vehicles, plus customer parking.
