Updating one of the oldest Iowa City schools
Horace Mann School is one of the oldest elementary schools in Iowa City. Thanks to the $190M bond issue passed by residents in 2017, a full school renovation was possible in 2018. Plans included a new gym, cafeteria, and library in addition to several new classrooms and an ADA-compliant playground.
MMS was tasked with working with the architect and general contractor, providing necessary survey work, construction staking, construction plans, bid assistance and quality assurance during construction.
The renovation was completed in August of 2019, in time for the 2019-20 school year.
