Our landscape design team got a bit stronger in the past month with the addition of Joe Aronson to the MMS team. Joe received his B.S. in Landscape Architecture from Iowa State in 2007 and has since developed his creative chops working on a variety of impressive projects in China and Iowa over the past ten years.
Joe’s work includes the creation of the design concept for a streetscape and urban plaza redesign adjacent to the Shanghai Exhibition Center as well as part of the design team that completed the plan for a five-star hotel, outdoor wedding venue, sports park and a 2,760-acre, multi-billion dollar development in Xianju, China. His China experience also included a lead design position with the Archiland Urban Planning and Design Studio in Nanjing.
Between his time in China and subsequent work in Des Moines completing a variety of residential projects, Joe has logged experience in both landscape architecture and urban planning. His portfolio includes sign/wayfinding design, beltways and trails, healthcare facility planning and eco-industrial park design.
Joe is enjoying the move to Iowa City with his young daughter, spending time on the family farm near Tiffin and exploring area museums and recreational opportunities.
We’re glad to have him onboard!
