MMS was selected by Police Facility Design Group and North Liberty to provide civil engineering services (site design, site plan, permitting, surveying/staking and construction documents) for the long-awaited police headquarters building/city jail. Surveying began in 2018 and led to the discovery of several site issues.
This project included some interesting challenges, including realigning an adjacent City street, addressing long standing drainage problems in this neighborhood, and challenging grading for a flat site. The project design began in 2018 with construction in 2019 and a grand opening in July 2020.
